Vehicle engineering
The main topics of research are tire-road contact especially in winter conditions, vehicle dynamics and modeling and systems engineering for heavy vehicles and mobile working machines especially heavy hybrid systems.
Research is relatively applied and therefore there is a need for understanding of different sciences and technologies. That is why the research typically is done in large consortiums involving participants from different departments of the university, research institutions and industry. Due to the global nature of the field the research co-operation is also international mainly among EU.
